Located on NSW’s Central Coast, Goodstart Early Learning Tuggerah is a state winner again this year, achieving an impressive KindiCare Rating of 9.9 to complement its Exceeding Rating from ACECQA.
Goodstart Early Learning Tuggerah has a team of highly trained and qualified educators who work closely with families to support children to grow into lifelong learners. They provide high-quality education and care for children aged from six weeks to six years in a natural and modern environment. Centre director Tearne Martin is a self-confessed ‘people person’ who loves making connections with children, families and educators as well as the wider community. Goodstart Early Learning Tuggerah has been providing early education to the local community for close to 17 years and Tearne says this has given them a chance to develop a very distinct culture. “Children, families, educators and our wider community partners are always at the forefront of our minds. This creates a culture of inclusion in which everyone can access what they need to succeed and prioritises wellbeing ensuring everyone’s emotional cup is full.” Goodstart Tuggerah has always gone above and beyond and is willing to evolve and respond to best meet the needs of families, this was especially true during COVID-19 when children and families struggled through extended periods of isolation. “Recognising the gap in social connections during COVID-19 and the impact this had on our children and families our team collaborated with families and community partners to hold an event at the local reptile park to bring families together and reunite relationships,” said Tearne. Tearne says this special event, held within a safe community space, gave children and families the confidence to reengage in social connections outside the walls of the service. The team at Goodstart Tuggerah is well loved by families and educators regularly receive glowing feedback. Tearne says this is because the service operates like ‘one big family,’ sharing challenging times as well as moments of happiness and joy. “Our families are more than just stakeholders. Educators at our service believe that relationships with families are pivotal to ensuring that all children get the best start to life and we understand the importance of maintaining genuine partnerships.” With an outlook like this it’s no wonder Tearne and the team at Tuggerah get such consistently amazing results!
