Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Braddon is located in the quiet suburb of Braddon two kilometres north of Canberra's CBD. Goodstart Braddon boasts nearby attractions such as a wide open park for children to explore, and close access to cafes and shops. We are also within walking distance to the City Centre Mall with Floriade just a few short blocks away. We are a nationally Accredited centre, open 52 weeks of the year except public holidays. Our opening hours are from 7.30am to 6pm. We are an 84 place child care centre with four rooms. Each room provides an Early Years Learning Framework (ELYF) program specifically designed to meet the developmental needs of the children in the room. Our three to five years’ rooms provide a program that aims to build the learning foundations for these children to go to school. Our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights and emailed newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre. Outside, our playground areas are a balance of natural and manmade elements and play surfaces – with sandpits, natural gardens and lots of shade. We have carefully designed and planned spaces to encourage a stronger understanding of the environment and sustainability – while giving children the scope to explore, play and let their imaginations roam. We also have a cook on premises five days a week and we provide breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack. The meals that we provide are healthy and nutritious and we also cater for children who have allergies to certain foods. Our room leaders have either a Diploma in children's services or are on their way to completing this qualification and most assistants in the centre are currently studying their Certificate III in children's services. A major focus for our centre is how working with the broader community can help us enrich the children’s learning experience. Art and music experiences – as well as a number of extra-curricular activities - are provided on a daily basis which allow the children to freely express their creativity. We would welcome the opportunity to meet with you and your family and learn a little about how we can best support you on the journey of lifelong learning.

Additional Centre Information

Krystle Peace
Centre Director

Hello! My name is Krystle Peace and I’m the new Centre Director at Goodstart Braddon.

A little bit about me: I am married, a mother of two teenage daughters and one fluffy cat. I grew up in the Blue Mountains in New South Wales, surrounded by bushland. I have been a dancer since I was four years old, though finding the time to take classes these days is quite the challenge! I am an avid reader. Books are my one true love and you will never find me without one. I drink too much coffee and am a lover of terrible jokes.

Career wise, I am a qualified Early Childhood Teacher and began teaching in 2008. During my time as an ECT I have taught every age group from our Nursery aged children up to Preschool, supporting our children to become excited about starting ‘big school’.

I moved into my role as a Centre Director in 2017 as I wanted to be a bigger part of helping to create strong, happy teams to run the best possible early childhood education experience for children. I have been with Goodstart since January 2019, since moving from Sydney to Melbourne and now to the ACT with my family.

I am extremely passionate about providing the highest quality education and care for children and strongly believe that this can only occur with solid partnerships between centre and families. I want our service to feel like a second home to not just the children, but also to their families and of course our team of Educators.
Effective communication is so important to me. As a parent, I think – what do I want to know when it comes to my children? The answer to that is everything! I will always aim to be available to you to be as communicative as possible with you all.

I am really looking forward to getting to know you all.
