Additional Centre Information

Excursions & Incursions

At Sage, we have thoughtfully organised excursions and incursions throughout the year.

The children will participate in regular walking excursions that provide a wonderful opportunity for children to explore their local surroundings.

In addition to our excursions, we love to bring the community to us at Sage. This is done through our reoccurring incursions planned throughout the year.

Let’s get active🤾‍♂️: Our weekly physical activity program lead by our qualified Fitness Coach, Jake.

Yoga and mindfulness 🧘‍♀️: Daily yoga, meditation and stretching sessions held at different times for all ages

Jolly Phonics 🍎: Our recognised phonics program is integrated into the preschool curriculum.  Children learn phonics through repetition, characters, songs, and online games

ELLA 🌎:  Our online language program where children explore a new language and culture each year

The library 📖: Our fun library service allows children to practice borrowing and returning books in their very own Sage library bag.

Health visits 👁: For your convenience the following services will be provided at Sage at allocated times throughout the year: vision screenings, dental visits, speech and occupational therapy

The Shed

Welcome to ‘The Shed’ a place where the children can put their building skills to use as they explore a range of tools to bring their creations to life. Our fully supervised woodwork room encourages children to assess risks and make safe decisions.

Engaging in construction with tools offers a valuable opportunity for risky play, allowing children to challenge themselves and develop confidence and skills with new materials.

The Shed is an inclusive space within our Sage Centre that encourages children to connect with each other and the world around them, nurturing curiosity, independence, and creative thinking.

Sounds of Sage: Recording Studio

Recognising the significant impact music has on positive emotions, wellbeing, and self-regulation in children, we are fortunate to have our own recording studio, ‘Sounds of Sage.’ Here, children can learn to create and express themselves through the joy of music.

The children can investigate with sounds whilst crafting their own music. Dancing and moving to music from different countries and cultures is encouraged as they are having fun whilst being physically active.

Environment

We welcome you to journey with us where you can experience vibrant and interactive learning spaces for children both indoors and outdoors.

Whilst prioritising your child’s care and education we also offer spaces for families based on our vision of you being their most influential and first teachers.

The lighting soft furnishings and decor bring a grounded, playful and whimsical feel to the overall aesthetic at Sage Early Education Centre

Our goal, with the idea of the environment as the third teacher, was to design spaces that feel like a spring garden, ready to be explored, making the cityscape and concrete pavements feel like a million miles away.

We aim to provide a happy, calm, and playful environment that feels a bit magical.

Our Rooms

We collaborated with an installation artist to create beautiful installations in every classroom, designed to spark the imagination of young children. Our aim was to create spaces that are calm yet playful, a bit fantastical, and still sophisticated for adults.

Sage features rooms for different age groups: Nursery, Little Learners (0-2 years old), Early Learners (2-3 years old), Junior Preschool and Preschool (3-5 years old).

Each room has its own outdoor area, allowing for simultaneous indoor and outdoor play.

All weather play

Sage Early Education Centre is purpose-built with your child’s needs in mind. We believe that playing outdoors in all weather conditions offers numerous benefits for children. At Sage, there’s no such thing as bad weather. Children will have opportunities for exploration, creativity, and physical activity all year round!

No matter the weather, a young child’s imagination can run wild, creating new worlds and stories with their friends.

Flavours of Sage

At Sage, we have a passion for food. We understand the importance of nourishing children’s bodies and growing brains with nutritious, delicious, and well-balanced meals. Healthy eating habits start at a young age, which is why we invest in educating children about food.

Menu

Our wholesome menu exceeds the daily nutritional requirements for children and is prepared with love. Developed by an experienced nutritionist, our menu nurtures both body and mind, providing the fuel children need to learn, play, and grow.

We are committed to working with families to create a suitable menu, ensuring every child receives five delicious, healthy, and appropriate meals each day. Our meals are not only tasty and nutritious but also visually appealing to children who eat with their eyes.

Menu Information:

  • Our children’s meals adhere to the Best Practice Guidelines set by The Australian Dietary Guidelines & Infant Feeding Guidelines.
  • Our menus are approved by the NSW Government Munch and Move Health initiative and their Practicing Dieticians & Accredited Nutritionist.
