Additional Centre Information

More Than Childcare - A Place to Learn with our Grow Curriculum

The Grow Curriculum is our unique educational framework and the basis for essential early years learning and development. It is guided by the Australia Early Years Learning Framework and the Australian National Curriculum. Our Grow Curriculum is designed by our in-house Education and Health specialists and tailored for Nursery, Toddler and Preschool/Kindergarten children. A focus on left brain logic and right brain creativity is at the heart of our approach to early learning and we go beyond education to encompass the social development, health & wellbeing of every child in our care.

We believe children learn best through play, so learning is woven into every experience, through both structured and unstructured learning. With our play-based approach to learning, every day includes consistent learning opportunities – and is fun at the same time.

Left Brain Logic

Literacy and language, exploration and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) and sustainability are taught by our dedicated Educators in small groups using active strategies such as demonstrating, open questioning, shared thinking and problem solving.

Right Brain Creativity

Music, dramatic play and art is practiced daily through play-based learning and uninterrupted play. Our campuses have an abundance of stimulating resources to encourage your child’s creativity.

More Than Childcare - Health & Wellbeing

Growing bodies and minds need physical activity, nutrition and safe sleep practices to thrive. Our expert in-house Health Team includes Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists and Dietitians to care for your child’s total wellbeing.

Social Development

Trust and mutual respect are fundamental to every child’s social development. We believe that fostering respectful and reciprocal relationships with our families will develop capable and confident learners.

Set for the transition to school

Our dedicated curriculum focuses on school-readiness outcomes such as a love of learning, emotional wellbeing, health, social and communication skills so that every child has the opportunity to thrive in their transition to a school environment.

Progressing from preschool/kindergarten to school is a huge milestone, not only for a child but for their parents too. Our in-house specialist Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Head of Health run regular School Readiness information workshops for parents, so families can support and encourage their child’s school readiness beyond the classroom and in a home environment.

More Than Childcare - Health & Wellbeing Focused

Our unique approach to health & wellbeing focuses on physical activity, nutrition, safe sleep & allied health services. It is designed and delivered by our dedicated in-house team of Dietitians, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists and Vision Specialists. We support families through individual consultations and information workshops. These services are all-inclusive within your daily fee.

Let's get physical

Physical confidence and being active is important to every child’s self-esteem and wellbeing. Our specialist Exercise Science and Human Movement program managers help children learn important gross motor skills, and a love of physical activity. Children improve their hand eye coordination, balance, flexibility, fitness, motor planning and body awareness through a range of activities.

Occupational Therapy

Children’s occupational therapy aims to promote a child’s participation and independence through every day, age appropriate activities. Our Occupational Therapists can provide strategies for your child’s learning, socialising and motor skills. We can refer you to additional support if your child is having difficulty in any of these developmental areas.

Speech and Language

Our children’s Speech Pathologists help children to develop appropriate speech sounds as well as their understanding and use of verbal language. Our team can provide screening, at your request, to identify any speech or language difficulties in children and provide recommendations for appropriate therapies to support your child.

School Readiness Vision Screening

As part of our commitment to the health and development of each child, we offer every child a complimentary vision screening as part of our school readiness program. The screenings are completed the year before your child starts school by our Consultant Orthoptist (in VIC and QLD) and NSW Health in NSW and aims to detect vision issues before school commences.

More Than Childcare - Nutrition to grow little bodies and minds

We started with the simple premise, that children aren't small adults, so their nutrition needs are different. Rapid growth means energy needs for their size are high.

Dietitian Designed Meals

Did you know most children form lifelong eating patterns by the time they reach school age?

Our in-house Dietitians design a delicious, rotating seasonal menu to offer a variety of meals. Each Only About Children campus has their own in-house cook to freshly prepare all meals from our seasonal menu, daily.

Every child in our care enjoys a range of nutritious and delicious meals and snacks every day.

Sample Menu

BREAKFAST – An assortment of seasonal fruits, toast & cereal

MORNING TEA – Crunchy granola yoghurt sundae

LUNCH – Cheesy beef nachos with avocado or Cheesy bean nachos with avocado & tomato salsa

AFTERNOON TEA – Veggie dippers & wholemeal pita bread served with hummus dip

LATE SNACK – Seasonal fruit with cheese & rice crackers

Our Food & Nutrition Ambassadors

We are very excited to launch our new Only About Children Food Ambassador – MasterChef Tommy Pham. Tommy joins our Dietitians, Anna & Alex from The Biting Truth, as our new Food Ambassador to share his love of cooking & teaching to our children & families.

The Educators and Management at this centre are the best I've ever experienced with my 2 children who have attended 2 different centres previously. The level of tailored care they have had for each of my kids is extremely unique and highly valued in my household. My oldest who is now at school asks every week to come back and visit her Daycare Educators (particularly Laju in the Pre-School room); that's how much of a lasting impression they have left on her. Last year when my daughter was prepping for Kindy, the level of personalised attention and focus she received from her Educators was incredible, as it paved the way for her now confident approach to learning now that she is in Kindergarden in Primary School. Her Educators knew her strengths and really encouraged and supported her learnings during her transition period in the last 6 months of the year for her before starting Kindy. They also provided us constant one on one feedbacks on her learning and focus areas, and provided resources to further cater to her learnings. Even though she no longer attends OAC, she is always welcomed back with open arms by her old Educators, who also continue to show interest in her development and learning as she grows up and is at her new big girl school. My youngest who is currently in the nursery room at OAC St Leonards absolutely loves her Educators Sarika, Suzanne + Ann), and the love and genuine care I see from everyone who looks after her shines through her happiness and her development. My little one has never ever cried at drop off, and on the odd occasion she is feeling a little attached, she is always approached by her Educators with a gentle, reassuring manner. The centre even provided me additional support and resources when we were struggling with her night time sleeps! Thank you Mariah <3 What I love about this centre is that you only need to communicate with them once on any changes/amendments your child needs and they are on top of it. From nap schedules, to food preferences, bottle time etc. Another thing thats shines through about this centre is the culture; from the Director Jess and Assistance Director Mariah, to the part-time carers, everyone respects one anothers roles and help out wherever it is needed. As Directors, they are not only in the office running the show behind the scenes, but they are also on the floor with the children, forming meaningful and important relationships with their fellow peers and the kids. Childcare is an industry that is doing it really hard at the moment, but as a parent, I've not once felt or sensed the difficulties up front; the behind the scenes juggle is not apparent to me, and I have definately seen the struggle come through at previous centres, but OAC have done an incredible job at managing this, without it impacting parents and children. Thank you beautiful OAC team! Highly recommended!

Our two kids (1 year old and 3 year old) got to OAC St Leonards and they absolutely love it! Our eldest has been there since he was 7 months old. The staff are amazing and attentive, and genuinely interested and concerned in the kids’ development. The centre is clean, the food they serve looks great, and they are always up to fun and stimulating activities throughout the day and the educators post regular updates on their app. Most importantly though, the staff are genuinely caring and have an interest in the kids and I feel very safe leaving them there.
I have not found any other childcare centre as good as OAC St Leonards. I have had my children in different centres before and have finally settled here with the support of caring, passionate and genuine educators. How I wish I have found them sooner! Jess the director, has also been supportive and truly cares for the wellbeing of my children and our families' needs since day one. I am at peace to leave my children under the care of this professional team who respects, cares and loves them. My children are thriving there and it's such a joy as a parent to see how they learn and develop so much in their early years. Big thanks to the all the educators who are truly amazing in what they do!
Here is totally a terrible childcare, especially the Director, very rude and disrespectful. Staffs are unprofessional on taking care of kids. It will be a nightmare if you choose here!

Thankfully today is the last day for my 2.4 years old daughter after agonizing 2 months. She was frequently bitten, hit in the lips, even her golden earrings were stolen , although staff were friendly, they seemed constantly stressed out and consequently I couldn’t see any developments occurred for my daughter during her stay. Whilst I understand that the above can be normal for children at her age, I was surprised to receive phone call almost every one or two weeks stating that something bad happened to my daughter. I hope I will find her a better Daycare and definitely OAC is excluded from my list for good.
Great facilities, but what really makes the difference at this OAC daycare is the fantastic, passionate and caring team! Had my oldest child there for 4 years and now my youngest has just started and we are very happy with the care provided. Although there is staff turnover from time to time (like most daycare centres would have), the new staff members quickly get integrated into the team to make it a non-issue. Jess and Mariah do a fabulous job keeping on top of things and communicating with families, and the educators on all levels show real genuine interest in the children and provide loving care. Lastly, great preschool program that prepares the children well for entering Kindergarten!

The team at OAC St Leonards are fantastic, my eldest has been there since less than one and the youngest is a happy infant. Both spend the whole week at the centre and we really like the interaction and support from not only Jess and Mariah but all of the educators from all levels. They truly care about our children.

There is nothing wrong with this particular centre. However the head office is a nightmare to deal with.
My daughter has been loving daycare and has learned so much in the short time that she has been a part of the centre. The staff is friendly and extremely forthcoming with information about her day and the overall experience we have with the nursery team at St Leonards is extremely positive.
