Do not let your children have the unpleasant experience of being disciplined by the teacher known as Mrs Durose I say this because during my time at Wakehurst I was consistently punished by her which is possibly the reason I have a sense of anguish whenever I walk past that school. When my parents enlisted me into the school I was not greeted with smiles but instead, I was greeted with constant gazes of disgust which I assume was because I'm half Chinese, due to this factor I was occasionally harassed by other students who after knowing I was half Chinese would use both of their index fingers to stretch the sides of their eyelids to make themselves look like they had "Asian eyes", at the time I did not know what they were doing as I was only four or five. Mrs Durose rarely punished other children asides from me and about three or four other students, despite the many complaints to the school at the time about Mrs Durose the school did not take any action that I know of apart from moving her to a different classroom to teach older children. Aside from most of the teachers being in their late fifties to their mid-sixties most of the teachers were easily angered and not very understanding of the student's feelings or emotions. My most common punishment was being sat away from other students and being placed in the corner where I would be forced to do work of which I was never taught to do as I had only just been enlisted and had no prior form of education beforehand. In total, I strongly recommend you enlist your children into another school such as Mimosa public school or Belrose public school.
