I am Paula Thompson and I am 71, I went to Yeo Park School when I was 4 or 5. I had a very best friend there called Esther Jang, and I would love to find her again…

Yeooooo! This school is sick, it’s kinda wack tho cause it’s rly small.
Magical setting for an urban school. Small school community with a big heart. My kid comes home smiling every day.
Such a gorgeous little school. My kids really enjoy going there and they are thriving in this unique environment where play and investigative learning is big part of how this school teaches.

Nurturing early education in a park setting, with a focus on play and investigations. a school that welcomes everyone and is well loved by the children

Various disgruntled and self-appointed "values" defenders are crying that Yeo Park hosts children and their families twice a year on an entirely inclusive "Parents and Carers Day". The intention of this day is to allow children who have a Mother or a Father to invite them, or if not to invite someone else, perhaps a Grandmother, Grandfather, Foster Carer, older Brother, Aunt or Uncle to come and celebrate a morning tea with them. Overwhelmingly children will have a Mother or Father attend this morning tea. If you are struggling already to understand how this could possibly be an issue, congratulations most right-minded people are too. But "Dangerous Goods Transport NSW - a courier service in Roseberry" and others like them feel deeply conflicted by such a simple premise, so simple that children aged 4-8 manage to navigate it with joyful pride twice a year - the benefit of great education in a good school does wonders! I wonder what joy these angry men find in proposing excluding a child who might ask his Grandfather to come to a morning tea when and where a Father is not present or able? Or what they'd tell a little girl to do the morning everyone else has their Mother to brunch and she cannot. Would they tell a child as they so bravely post here now that she shouldn't ask another family member to sit by her and share a fruit salad that morning because its "un-Australian"? The language "parents and careers" offends them so much, that it's better a child should feel different and excluded just so that ridiculous men on the internet might not have to expand their worldview and realize it's actually about letting children celebrate their family. Children don't get to pick who makes up their family, and this is a school that never asks them to feel judged because of it. Whatever version of values this tantruming man is defending brings no joy and offers no compassion, who would want their child to go to a school that he'd approve of?! One that excludes, isolates and diminishes families? No thanks "Dangerous Goods" your values and sentiments are well named and correctly identified. I hope Yeo Park always fails to meet the approval of such people. It's one measure of the many where Yeo Park excels and is utterly brilliant.

Cutest little school. Literally in a park.
