Little Zak's Academy Shellharbour

My daughter went to this daycare but i pulled her out. There was never any updates about her day as i was told by educators they didnt have time or to programming. They said that the management doesnt support them and they are left to look after 30 kids or more with 1-2 educators a bunch of casuals. There seems to be a new director every time i go and there is never the same educator. Director was rude and they seem too busy too assist. They charge alot more than other centres, Staff aren't friendly and cant tell you how your child day was because they are always casuals on.DO not recommend this centre

My child was in a younger room, was injured a lot and hungry at pick up. Left in same nappy all day and centre tried to say he was changed. Rooms were overcrowded with not enough educators to ratio. I witnessed a child crying and the educator basically said “stop crying” and offered no support. No complaints process and high turn over of staff. No one last longer than a few wks. Even the staff suggested to take my child elsewhere. Do not recommend

Horrible horrible place Constant staff turn over, child was meant to undertake kinder prep and have a consistent routine instead it was mutiple staff walking out the door as well as 6 directors within months. Educators are fed up and said they “don’t have time to toilet train “ therefore my child sat in wet pants or was put in a nappy when was already toilet trained. Child was locked outside because they didn’t want them inside because of staffing ratios. I witnessed my child screaming because wanted more food and was “screamed at by educator “ My child would shake and cry at drop off and was terrified of most educators Had multiple meetings for extra support that went nowhere because there was no director therefore had to escalated to the department of education. They investigated and the centre was found to be in breach of multiple issues. Their excuse was “there was no director “ therefore we couldn’t get more support for the rooms and was told to “find a new centre that deals with extra support “. Basically no one was looking after the place. Little Zak’s in my experience is cold clinical and should be shut down. Educators diagnosed my child when they are not trained to do this. They charge well over what other centres do and promise “cooking , French class” which is all smoke and mirrors. None of this happens They tried to cancel swimming because “they don’t have time to take educators of the floor to go swimming” yet their website advertises this. Children are constantly injured and “no one saw what happened” The daily updates and journals are meant to be updated daily yet “staff don’t have time for this “ do yourself a favour find a centre that cares, because little zacks certainly does not care for children they care about the money They have still been trying to charge my account even after I have left!

I would not recommend this Centre at all. My family attended for 3 years, 2024 was an awful year, with most of the educators in the centre leaving, about 6 different Directors, absolutely no handover between changes, no consideration for kids routine, the prep program was non existent due to the lack of consistency of educators. Staff are clearly doing their best but it seems they don't get enough support or resources from the head office to do their job properly, the problem comes from the top and I don't think it'll be a quick change, stay away if you can

Room leaders are unfriendly and non-responsive, daily reports are not daily and sometimes weekly reports, very impatient to consult on issues. Children injured, no action by educators.

Really happy with Little Zak’s - the staff are absolutely wonderful, the rooms are fantastic, clean and very well put together and my little person loves the outdoor area. It’s second to none and I highly recommend. It was hard putting my only child into care but they are excellent and I cannot fault them! Keep it up guys - really happy to be a part of this centre.
