Only About Children Ferny Hills is a warm and inviting childcare centre with four separate, dedicated outdoor play areas with lots of space for adventure and self-lead play. Our children love to look after our worm farm, vegetable garden and compost bin in their very own learning garden. Our natural outdoor play spaces include a large timber fort with a slide and climbing wall. Our six age-based indoor spaces are cosy and homelike. They cater for nursery children right through to kindergarten ages and are specifically designed to encourage children to learn and grow with a focus on safety and natural elements. We enjoy connecting with our local community through planned excursions and community activities that build on the children’s interests and learning. As part of their enrolment at Only About Children childcare Ferny Hills, children gain access to our Health Program, with specialist screening and support in Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Vision and Nutrition. Our dietitian-designed seasonal menus are prepared daily by our Cooks, from breakfast through to evening snack so your child is well-nourished throughout their day, every day. In our Ferny Hills kindergarten and early learning centre you will find a team of qualified and passionate Educators ready to help your child feel happy, safe, stimulated and nurtured. Our educational curriculum, known as Oac Grow, specifically supports the development of growing minds in Nursery, Preschool and Kindergarten aged children. We cover technology, numeracy and literacy, creative expression, exploration and sustainability. Every day, your child will take part in a range of experiences exclusive to Only About Children. We deliver teaching in a fun, inclusive environment, with programs ranging from ‘Book of the Month’ to our enriching Music program and our ‘Spanish Language Appreciation’ program. Our ‘Active’ program helps children learn gross motor skills and improve their strength, endurance, flexibility, balance and coordination. Our play-based curriculum allows us to deliver considered teaching in dynamic small group learning environments where we continuously monitor children’s challenges, successes and skills.

Our Only About Children Ferny Hills campus is focused on giving your child a calm and welcoming environment that balances play, exploration, and learning. Our Toddler rooms are led by passionate educators who create play-based learning activities designed to provide toddler-aged children with nurturing experiences that encourage growth and development.

Our Toddler rooms are safe, supportive spaces that facilitate creative exploration. Each space is expertly designed to encourage younger children to explore, solve problems, create, construct and interact with peers.

Our Ferny Hills Toddler program includes:

Age 2-3 years of appropriate learning and playing environments.
Balanced structured and unstructured play-based learning – Grow curriculum – with exclusive Music/Spanish Language/Active/Book of the Month programs offered each day.

Ferny Hills Nursery

At Only About Children Ferny Hills Nursery, our passionate educators focus on laying a foundation for enduring curiosity, confidence and a love of learning. Our Ferny Hills Nursery caters to the care and development needs of infants aged 6 weeks -2 years.

The Ferny Hills Nursery focuses on safe sleep practices developed by qualified Family Health Nurses and Consultants. Our nursery is a safe and stimulating environment that encourages your child to explore and play and implements both structure and a nurturing environment with our exceptional caregiving and play routines.

Our Ferny Hills Nursery Program includes:

Age 6 weeks -2 years appropriate indoor/outdoor learning environments.
Sleeping rooms with a focus on positive sleep practices.
Dietitian designed baby menus with all meals and snacks included.
Baby essentials such as nappies, cots, linen, and sunscreen.
Balanced structured and unstructured play-based learning – Grow curriculum – with exclusive Music/Spanish Language/Active/Book of the Month programs offered each day.

Our purpose-built Campus is conveniently located at 127 Ferny Way, Ferny Hills, on the corner of Ferny Way and Illuta Ave. We are a short walk to Ferny Grove Station and local parks Ferny Grove Picnic Ground and Cassimaty Park. We have three local schools nearby, Ferny Hills State School, Patrick’s Road State School and Ferny Grove State School, all within a 16-minute walk or a short drive. With plenty of onsite parking available, families can enjoy a smooth drop off and pick up every visit. We have a bus stop right outside, with services operating in both directions.
