We Belong Family Day Care

I would not recommend this family daycare to anyone after the experience I had. My daughter (20 months) was with a carer by the name of Donna for 2 weeks. I thought she was doing good with the photos and updates I was getting and out of nowhere I was told by Donna that my daughter can no longer stay in her care because she is not having a 2 hour nap and not settling / refuses to nap, that she's never had any child refuse naps before, and that she needs to think of her mental health and her families mental health. The carer kept telling me I need to take my daughter to a sleep school when Olivia has been fine with sleeping and has only been unsettled due to the changes (attending daycare and mum going back to work). The carer had no compassion, patience or understanding of toddler behaviour. Children need time to adjust to changes and carers should be catering to individual needs of a child. After attending this family daycare Olivia was nothing but unsettled for weeks on end and would only sleep on me when normally she would sleep in her own bed. She wasn't her happy little self. Donna was highly recommended by the providers and when I did the stay and play I thought it was a good fit for our daughter unfortunately it didn't work out. I then had to take time off work to look for another daycare. After a week of attending a daycare centre Olivia is absolutely thriving. Eating all her food, sleeping for an 1 hr and half or more, enjoying playing with all the kids and carers and has built relationships with all the amazing carers. She doesn't cry on drop off and gives me a hug and kiss and says bye. And off she goes to the carers. We couldn't be happier this new daycare. They always update us and communication is great. It only took a week for her to settle at this daycare. So it still gets me thinking why she was so unsettled and upset when in We Belong family daycare. I don't want any other parents going through what I did. It was quite upsetting for myself and my 20 month old. And put our family in a hard position when having to take time off work and look for another daycare. I was told I would get help finding alternate care with correspondence they knew but they never bothered. I put in a formal complaint and nothing was done other than saying we will help /support and get extra training for the carer. I have been blocked from their page after this review. That says it a lot really. Hence why I am posting on here.

As an educator the staff at this scheme have been so very helpful and welcoming.

Have rang them 4 times over the last 2 months, do not return phone calls when they have finally looked into a care was in the totally wrong area to where I live.
