Hi! My name is Michelle Jensz and I have been working in the Early Childhood sector since 1984. I have always found it rewarding working with children and appreciate their innate ability to learn through exploration and play. To see the look on children’s faces when they learn a new skill or knowledge is so fulfilling. For me, making a difference for children through quality educational and care programs is what drives me to reflect on practices and to always do better.
I am a firm believer of the United Nations Charter for the Rights of the Child and Early Childhood Australia Code of Ethics. For this reason, I use these documents to help guide decisions which will affect children’s care and education while in the service and community. Quality can and education in a safe, supportive, warm and loving environment is something all children should experience.
The early years in a child’s life are the foundation years. For this reason, it is important are given not just a good start but the best start to life long learning. In the words of Maria Montessori: ‘The goal of early childhood education should be to activate the child’s own natural desire to learn.’
I look forward to meeting all families who decide to join us at Crestmead and hope to be an integral part of your child’s journey for a successful in all they do.
