Poor management.

This review is for the Kindy Program. Had to change my child after multiple years at the one daycare because their version of ‘differentiation’ in the pre-prep year is to allow students to disengage from group activities and do other things. I noticed my child was not appearing in comment or photo class updates for their day of learning. When I questioned the teacher, it’s because she wasn’t involved in these things when it was taking place and therefore missed the photos also. I was told my child likes to do something else and that her skills for group work are ‘still emerging’. In previous years my child participated in all group activities and was also a risk taker who loved challenges. (And other things that happened, like barely eating (having part of lunch or picking at rice or eating a replacement rice cracker is not sufficient) and not being informed because she’s older now and not a baby). Also a total lack of professionalism when I gave the feedback - instead I was constantly provided excuses as to why they are right and my perception is not. My child also noticed she wasn’t in the hallway class photos. When asked, I was directed to look in the classroom instead. That is not what my child noticed. She noticed all her friends, and not her, in the hallway class activities. My child had a prep interview and came home with me for that without underwear on. I specifically told them that day to please try to keep her clothing in tact and not to do extreme messy or wet play. My requests were disregarded; alright, but not ensuring a child, even if kindy aged, isn’t full dressed, is not the standard I accept for the fees I pay. Every other year was MUCH more positive than this. Pre-Kindy was excellent. Also more structured to properly differentiate - the skill of adjusting curriculum to meet students at their level of need so they can be engaged. A disappointing end but hopefully they will apply feedback instead of refuting this also. Regards, Nicole

Professionally run. Teachers have been there long term and are actively engaged with the kids

Ive only had experience with reception and Toddler rooms, but they are always professional, helpful and most importantly caring with my child. The facilities are excellent and the educators are lovely.

We have been with the Butterfly Childcare Manly West for about 18 months now and have loved it from day one - currently in Pre-Kindy & Nursery rooms. The Educators care about the development and wellbeing of our kids and our kids are learning so much each day. They have built really strong bonds with the Educators and other kids also. Great environment, lots to see, interact & play with & they keep changing the playground around to keep it fresh & exciting for the kids each day. Great food provided and very approachable staff. We have recommended and will recommend again.
