Absolutely horrible school. Girls there are mean and snotty, and the school barely tries to fix this.
An inclusive Christian school which supports all girls to reach their full potential, with a strong focus on well-being…sounded perfect. Alas, I was fooled by good marketing. I have apologised to my daughter for making such a disastrous choice and moved her to another school where she will be genuinely accepted and treated for who she is.
An amazing student named Lihia attends this school and she’s very kind to others. We need more people like her !!
I contacted reception to have an email forwarded through to have looked over in regards to our company. "Deanne" answered and informed me she was the principals assistant. She then gave me an email which she would personally look at and I thanked her for her time. I noticed the email didn't work and contacted back, being on hold for quite some minutes. A lady named "Sandy" answered the call and repeated the same email that wasn't working so I informed her of the possible error but she said thank you and hung up on me without question. I didn't appreciate the interaction as I thought I was genuinely being forwarded and helped.
Potato gems are crunchy and well salted, although quality is variable depending on the day, and this is independent of price. It is worth noting that efforts have been made to reduce the impact of inflation, however the economy's state is reflected, to a certain degree, in prices. Service is high quality, with the customer experience being prioritised. As such, presentation of the food isn't exactly gourmet, but certain leeway can be allowed in this circumstance.
Seating spaces are somewhat cramped, so I recommend takeaway. The atmosphere is to be commended.
With high quality food and great service, be sure not to miss this place on your next trip through the bayside.
don't go here.
Don't enrol your kid here 💀 I dont even have to explain..
Sporting activities are excellent.
+ A lovely school for girls with every opportunity to thrive. Well-rounded in terms of academics, sports and music with some arts. Very caring and supportive staff. Subject selection is very good although most notably missing applied subjects such as Woodwork. Campus is outstanding.
- Girls are more reluctant to foster a supportive environment for each other in a general sense. This shows at MBC in the lack of pride they have for their school. This is a shame as the school appears to work hard on its culture. I would have loved an opportunity to go to a school like this as a girl.
Average girls tend to slip through the cracks a little - one of my daughters is shy and could use a lot more encouragement to participate. She got to Year 10 and felt it was too late to start new things as teams and favourites were already well established. Perhaps compulsory participation in at least one thing per term should be considered to teach girls they must not only take but also contribute to the community.
My only complaint per se would be the lack of discipline (which no doubt has to do with parental pressure). Still, I would like to see more detentions and accountability for things like tardiness, missing school events without a doctors note and the like. The PB demerit system never seems to have any consequence. My notoriously late daughter simply has to say she missed the bus to avoid repercussions for arriving an hour late to school. Unlike my sons school, MBC never verifies this with me.
Overall, a very good school with a rich history, good Old Girl network, mediocre social opportunities and a high calibre of staff and facilities. If your daughter wants to make the most out of her years at school, she can get it here.
