I love having my children at this service. The environment is welcoming, clean and homely. My children love coming each and everyday and have such wonderful relationships with all of the wonderful educators.

We’ve had such a positive experience with Journey Early Learning Centre. The staff are incredibly warm and caring, and they create such a safe and welcoming environment for the kids. The activities are engaging and thoughtfully designed, and I love how the team emphasises both learning and fun. The children there always seem happy, which really speaks to how nurturing the environment is. We’ve always felt a great sense of trust with Journey Early Learning and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to any parent looking for a safe, loving place for their children.

Awesome staff, great communication and excellent with my 2 children. Have recommended to many.
I love this centre, it is great. The educators are awesome and go above and beyond daily. They are always so welcoming and have positive interactions with my daughter. They certainly did a great job settling my nerves when we first started as it was my daughter's first time in care.

If you care about your children’s wellbeing or education, reconsider sending them to Journey Dakabin. Journey Dakabin currently does not meet quality areas for educational program and practice, and children’s health and safety. Consider the following: - For 10 months Journey failed to prevent injury to my son. He was targeted and regularly came home with significant bite marks which would bruise. Despite being repeatedly raised, the response was always ‘we are working on it with the family of the other child’. The behaviour was never fixed. Staff stopped providing me incident reports for the injuries. - One day, my son did not want to sleep. A staff member was witnessed physically restraining my son in between their legs. I was not initially told. The staff member later admitted to the conduct during a phone call. - A staff member openly and shamelessly mocked their class to parents and other staff, calling the class ‘retarded’ because they couldn’t self apply sunscreen. These are two year olds… It was reported and no action taken. There were many other atrocious comments. - My son was being held by a staff member when he did not want to be held. The staff member was witnessed throwing him at the ground from waist height. - My son was not adequately supervised by staff. He accessed a pair of scissors and cut his hair. I was only informed after questioning why some of his hair was gone. I did not receive an incident report. The regulatory authority investigated and substantiated a breach of national law. - More often than not, incident reports were not provided. Sometimes they were not completed at all, despite needing to be. On some of occasions, reports were incorrect, backdated or reported alternative facts. The regulatory authority investigated and substantiated a breach of national regulation, finding that reports contained ‘inaccurate information’. - One day on pickup, my son approached me with his face bleeding from being scratched. When I approached the only staff member in the playground, they denied knowing about the incident. My son interjected and said the staff member told him he should have told his teacher. His teacher left at least 30 minutes prior. - There are many other poor examples such as my son not being fed, bathrooms being locked, soiled nappies not being changed and curriculum not being delivered. Whilst all did in fact occur, the extremely limited evidence did not substantiate some. Factor in how easy it is to report ‘inaccurate information’ and some individuals severely lacking accountability. Evidence required to prove some incidents simply did not exist, and even if it did, it would understandably have to carry heavy weighting. If Journey wanted to be accountable and had nothing to hide, they would have CCTV in appropriate care areas like other reputable child care centres. It is likely CCTV would be sufficient evidence to substantiate all of these incidents. It is obvious that Journey intentionally evades responsibility by deciding not to install even inexpensive CCTV (despite child care being a highly profitable industry). - I made the mistake of trusting Journey and their brochures. I had faith they would treat my children with care and respect. After everything my son went through, Journey blocked me on Facebook and continue to use his happy, innocent smile in Facebook advertisements. Not only is this vile and disgraceful, it is immoral and degrading. This is their way of getting revenge. - Thankfully, Journey cancel my children’s enrolments. They can cancel your enrolments if you tell people about your experiences. Again, shows how much they try to hide. - Journey is required to keep a record of their non-compliance, which includes details of compliance notices and directions. They must provide this to you on request - review this before sending your children here. - Both the service and the provider show no genuine compassion or care - you are just another enrolment in a for profit business that cuts corners to the detriment of your children.
