My son has attended Absorbent Minds Montessori (AMM) for almost 2 years and I am thrilled in every aspect of the centre. The needs of the children are prioritised above all else and this gives me such great peace of mind. As a father I have the utmost confidence with the care and education provided for my son. The classrooms and environment are extraordinary, along with the exceptional educators and support staff. The rapport my son has with all of the centre staff is heartwarming and a real testament to the relationship building skills of the educators. The weekly food menu has great variety, is healthy and is cooked fresh onsite. My son often has double and triple servings!!! I wouldn’t change a thing about the centre and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone wanting a great start to their child’s education.

Couldn't be happier with our choice to send our son to Absorbent Minds! The school follows all Montessori practices allowing the children to learn practical skills for life. The education rooms and playscape are beautifully designed and always tidy and organised. It truly is a gorgeous place for children to play and learn throughout the day. The staff are the heart of AM, they're always kind, smiling and enjoying their interactions with the children. They have made our transition smooth and comfortable while providing the confidence in allowing our son to stay in their care for a lengthy period. We have noticed multiple positive changes with our son since he started attending. He looks forward to his school days each week with ease and anticipation and lacks any fear, showing only enjoyment upon arrival. We can see how much our son enjoys his time here with how much he is learning and absorbing each day, even willing to try new healthy delicious foods from the stunning cafe attached. We honestly cannot even put into words how amazing his two teachers are, Isabel and Kalani. He has formed a great bond with both as the genuine care that these two put into working with our son has been the most rewarding part of all. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our boy feel so welcome, included and appreciated in the Elkhorn Community. AM also uses the Stoprypark app which gives updates of your childs progress, special moments, etc. A great aspect that is not overused. You are able to see important updates about your child and even converse with teachers over any challenges you may have or ask questions. Owners/Directors and sisters, Natalie and Anita are beyond kind. They are full of guidance and support for not only the child but the entire family. The were considerate and supportive during the early stages and have been nothing but informative and understanding since day one. Dynamic Duo! We would absolutely recommend Absorbent Minds to all families with littlies. The food and cafe staff are also amazing...Its a must try! Thanks Alex & Troy!
We have been at the centre for nearly a year. We have experienced both infant community and children's house. I have found the educators to be approachable and highly engaged with the children. My child still visits her previous educators and still has strong relationships with them. While you only get a weekly story park update it is well thought out, informative and engaging. I feel like my child has thrived in this environment. Lots of activities each day outside the room in the morning and afternoon. Large play space. Very focused on Self care, care of other and care of environment - this has lead to confidence boost and leadership in our child. Educators are open to parent goals and willing to make a plan to work with you - when learning new skills we all committed to going all in all the time and the child was quickly were able to learn the skill as we were consistent at home and at the centre. Food is creative and engaging of child's palate. It encourages exploration of spices, vegetables and proteins. The quality of food is extremely high and I always get notes that my child will have extra so they clearly love it. Owners are passionate and engaged. They have surrounded themselves with high quality staff and have always been clear with communication. They were extremely supportive when we were on the waiting list and were very empathetic. I know I called too often for a update and they always took the time to take my calls. This support has continued throughout our time at the centre.
My almost 2 year old has been attending Absorbent Minds Montessori for almost a year. In this time, I have seen her grow and shape into such an inquisitive, caring and clued on toddler. Her capabilities at her young age compared to my older children who attended traditional childcare years ago are truely a testament to not only the Montessori ways but how every single person at Absorbent Minds cares and educates for my daughter and her peers. The facility itself is beautiful and always well taken care of, and you can truely tell every member of staff enjoys being there and educating our kids. Any and all of my concerns are always addressed quickly. Having 8 years of parent experience dealing with child cares , I can honestly say it’s refreshing to see such caring and involved owners/directors of a child care centre. Their backgrounds outside of owning/operating a child care center, have proven an advantage to providing a quality care and education centered environment.

To say I am disgusted with this place and the owner, Anita, is an understatement. My son is a very hands on boy, and from what we read, Montessori was the appropriate pathway/means of schooling for him. Well, didn’t the owner make me feel how wrong I was. We booked him in for a tour of the centre and I told Anita of his sensory needs which I do not feel are being met as his current centre. I told Anita how we are working closely with an OT to support him with this and even they agreed Montessori would be very suitable for him. Once the tour had concluded, Anita said she would contact me within the week. 2 weeks later, no contact. So I had to call in and ask if they had any further information. Anita told me that they had a last minute assessment, they had concerns with his sensory and that they would get back to me. This was approximately 6/8 weeks ago now and no response. Anita kept harping on about ‘Montessori is for every child’, but clearly not if your child is in the too hard basket. It’s also come to light that Anita doesn’t even have child care experience, she only opened the centre as her child went to one and wanted to provide the same opportunities. How can you provide the same opportunities if you don’t have the experience? So many red flags in this place and I will taking this further. Thanks for excluding my son.

Having my (now) 5yr old twins attend Absorbent Minds since it first opened has been amazing. They struggled hugely with separation anxiety, not having been in care before, but the staff were so supportive of us as a family and worked with us to find solutions to challenging behaviours. The twins have come such a long way in their development with the gentle yet firm guidance of the educators and the directors. I've learnt a few things myself. The centre itself is beautiful. Clean, well organised, and with a huge undercover area and natural outdoor playground. The rooms and resources encourage so much exploration and learning, that is of course guided by the educators. The twins have come home ready to help with setting the table, chatting about the life cycle of bees, and with so much artwork in which they've practiced letter formation. I'm confident they will be well prepared to enter prep, and carry so many life skills on into the future. I'm so grateful for the Montessori approach that does reinforce good daily habits. It's made home life in a very busy household a little more manageable. On a recent holiday, within 1/2 an hour of arriving, one twin had unpacked her and her brother's clothing, and neatly arranged it in their cupboard. I hadn't even asked! The food has to be mentioned too. Probably one of the main reasons I chose this centre. To have it all cooked on site, from scratch, without refined flours or sugars is just incredible! I love knowing that my children are receiving wholesome, nutritious food. Thank you so much to the centre staff, and especially Natalie and Anita. You all are wonderful!

I have been meaning to write this review for a while and can say it’s been hard to find the right words to describe our experience. I have the highest of praise for the care our family receives at Absorbent Minds. Our daughter has attended since September last year (initially in Nido and currently in the Infant community) and the decision to enrol her at AM has been one of the best we have made. Our daughter is cared for so deeply by not only her educators but also the directors and other educators in the centre. The consideration taken for her emotional well-being in general and the extra care taken through various transitions has brought us peace of mind and confidence. She loves attending each day and it’s been so great watching her grow her confidence and develop further into the little independent person she is. As a child with food allergies we love that the food prepared by Project Salubrious is inclusive and equally nutritious and delicious. (Kurt is a genius) Thank you Natalie and Anita for creating such a beautiful and supportive community!
I cannot speak highly enough about the genuine care the team and educators have for the work they do. Always leading with intergrity and compassion. My daughter has been at the center since Jan 2023 and she has been thriving. As a first time parent I was extremely anxious about the transition into full time care, however Natalie and Anita (owners) have created such a warm and welcoming environment the transition was gentle on us both (my daughter and myself). The center environment authentically reflects the Montessori Method philosophy. My daughter started in Nido (the nursery) and has grown into the Infant community rooms, both spaces are equipped with plenty of practical life activites and play. Each day she is served healthy meals chef prepared meals and often comes home with paintings in her backpack. Alongside the huge outdoor play space there is plenty of room for her big feelings and imagination. It is without hesitation I recommend this Montessori early learning center.
By far the BEST daycare in the Moreton Bay region! I had been waiting YEARS for a Montessori early education centre to open locally and these guys have exceeded my expectations. Our son has been attending since the week they opened and we couldn't love it more. Things I love: - The place is CALM. This is one of the first things I noticed. Every other "mainstream" centre I have been to is absolutely chaotic, especially at pick up and drop off times, which really made it hard to drop my sensitive boy off most days. There is just such a beautiful energy at this centre and it really does make for easy transitions. - The food! It is so reassuring to know the children are being fed the most delicious, nourishing and clean food. They are allowed to eat as little or as much as they need at meal times with no pressure. - The beautiful leaders/guides/educators. Again, I have witnessed some shocking treatment of children at other centres. The staff here treat the children with so much love, care and respect and that is really important to me as a parent. They are also respectful of our wishes as parents and work really well with us in providing the best outcomes for our son. - The skills my son has learnt! After just over 8 months here, he comes home almost every day teaching me something new! I love how they foster the childs independence, and also their individual learning interests. - The facility is absolutely amazing, as well as the learning materials. My favourite thing is the purpose-built childrens kitchen! The location is really convenient for us. I love that the cafe is right next door for a cheeky morning coffee (which, might I add, is devine!) My one criticism is: When we first toured the centre, I wanted my son to attend 4 days a week, however, only 2, 3 or 5 days are options. I won't lie, I was a little disappointed, but that definitely wasn't going to stop me from enrolling. I was hesitant to put him in for 5 days as 3 was the most he was used to. We started off with 3 days and he and I were both so comfortable and happy here that we transitioned him to 5 days after about a month. I will add, Montessori Education is not for everyone. I would suggest if you've never heard of it that you do some research on Dr Maria Montessori and the Montessori method before booking a tour so you better understand why things are they way they are and it doesn't seem so "alternate". Kudos to Anita, Natalie and the whole team for creating such a beautiful, loving and educational environment for our son to spend his days. Your hard work doesn't go unnoticed and I will continue to recommend Absorbent Minds to anyone who will listen! If you've made it this far, thank you for reading!
