So so happy I have Chosen Guardian childcare at Caloundra West for my 6month old. As a first time mum and hearing so many horror stories about daycare I was nervous but the educators have been amazing with my little one. She really enjoys it and the communication has been so good and I know how my baby has been going everyday. No regrets and they have gone above and beyond my expectation.
I feel so lucky that both our children get to attend Guardian Caloundra. Every single educator takes so much pride with the education and care they provide our kids. My son had a particularly hard time adjusting to daycare and all the educators, including the director Doug, did everything they could to help him adjust happily. They are inclusive of special care needs, my son has his AHA visit him in studio each week, which allows him to practice his therapy in real world circumstances. I cannot recommend Guardian Caloundra enough, they are the best!
A very sub-standard centre compared to most childcare centres within the area, and we felt the centre is more of a place to drop your child off for the day, rather than for them to learn and play. The centre only recently achieved 'meeting' to the National Quality Standard (NQS), which is not great considering the cost comparison to other centres, which excel in comparison.
The silver lining was that some of the educators were really nice, but in general, there were limited toys and activities compared to other childcare centres in the area, and a very primitive learning and activity plan (almost non-existent). We genuinely felt the children did very little whilst at the centre, and there was very little artwork displayed in the room, which was very telling.
There was also limited or virtually no events compared to other centres that our child was also attending, and there wasn't even a Halloween dress-up event this year, which was really disappointing. Communication was equally quite poor (no real idea what your child gets up to most days), sleep schedules were not respected, and you'd receive less photos and stories of your child in a month, than other centres provide within a day at their centre.
Overall, quite disappointing, and it's hopeful that the centre improves in time.
We would like to take the time to thank this wonderful centre. As parents of Petit Caloundra we find all the staff are amazing. They are caring, kind, professional and welcoming. The two directors are 1 in a million, always willing to help out and are very approachable. Both our children are so well cared for in such a beautiful, natural and personal way and we simply couldn’t be happier with the choice we made to send our most precious people to this centre :)
When I moved to Caloundra a little over a year and a half ago, I was tossing up between Petit and another centre. In order to even tour the other centre I had to enrol my children, then get them in for a transition day. Coming from a Reggio centre, I couldn’t wrap my head around the mess and chaos these kids were exposed to. I conceded it was not the centre for me.
When I called Petit, I was welcomed with open arms for a tour, no lengthy enrolments needed first. I entered the centre, there was a beautiful sense of calm and order. The playground had so many inviting & challenging areas that my toddler took an instant liking too. Everything in each room was an invitation to play and child led.
We have been at petit for 18 months now. My kids love it and I do too. There is a sense of community there and parents are invited to get involved in many different activities. We’ve made friends there because of this. When problems have arised, they’ve been attended too, honestly, with empathy and understanding.
The educators there are first class and so passionate about what they do. I couldn’t reccomended Petit Early Learning highly enough. We are so lucky to belong to the community there.
Petit ELJ Caloundra is a brilliant daycare and kindy. Both of my children have been attending since the beginning of 2021, and it has been so heartening to see them blossom into creative, thoughtful and kind people, thanks in huge part to Petit. They have totally flourished under the nurturing support of the wonderful educators. The whole team are super responsive, supportive and communicative, and the atmosphere is always warm and calm. I cannot fault the facilities or the staff!

Great centre! We moved our children here this year and all of the educators have been amazing with them. They’ve settled in beautifully and we absolutely love the Haven Place and treasure cove studios.
