Centre Director
Hi, I’m Annette and I am the Centre Director here at Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Penfield. I have worked in the childcare sector for the past 25 years – 22 of those years spent here at Penfield. In 2004 I became the Centre Director and I am fortunate to lead a team of experienced and highly qualified early childhood educators, many of whom have remained at the centre for many years.
I strongly believe in offering young children a program that enhances their skills in a fun, loving, safe and supportive environment. We focus strongly on ensuring children have the social skills to make a seamless transition to school and at the core of everything we do is giving the children the time and space to learn at their own pace.
I really enjoy being a special part of the children's lives here at Goodstart Penfield and watching them grow and develop into confident young individuals. I’m also passionate about supporting families and making sure parents have the information they need as well as someone to turn to for a sounding board or have questions answered.
I am proud to be involved in the child care concept we enjoy here – the child care farm. Having the interactive farm environment adds a new aspect to child care where the children not only learn skills needed for school and later in life, but are taught responsibility in looking after our animals and understanding their role in our world.
