Our high standards help children adapt to the rhythm and flow of daily life at Aurora. We employ qualified staff to give your child the attention they need, supporting them to participate in play and learning. Aurora children play in a safe and well-maintained environment, both inside and outdoors.

The Environment: A combination of Art and Education

The Aurora Melbourne service, is a purpose built service based on the 5 elements of nature. The building is architecturally designed to support children to feel safe yet challenged while learning in the space. This centre wholly supports our vision to create a space for children, families, staff and friends to connect, care and create with each other on a daily basis.

Highly Qualified Pedagogues

Aurora aims to have teachers that are highly qualified and experienced such as Masters and Bachelors in all rooms of the service. All educators at Aurora are well versed in early childhood education and development and are trained through Aurora, to always provide a safe, supportive learning environment for your child

Indoor/Outdoor Program

Experiencing nature is core to the Aurora philosophy. We believe in a mix of indoor/outdoor learning delivers a balanced educational experience for children of all ages. Your child will have access to both indoor and outdoor spaces throughout the day, dependent on the weather. (We just ask you to make sure they are prepared for all weather conditions!)

Kitchen

We are focused on  nutrition and healthy eating at Aurora. The Australis Kitchen is located in the centre of the building, being the most important room in the Centre! Expert nutritionists advise us on our menus which is filled with a variety of tastes and flavours from around the globe. Our in-house chef prepares fresh, delicious food in the Aurora kitchen every day and we will encourage your child to try all meals unless advised otherwise (eg allergies or dietary restrictions). Water is served with every meal and is accessible at all times throughout the day.

Cafe

The Cafe element to the Melbourne service is for families and friends of Aurora to have a safe and friendly meeting space throughout the day. The Cafe will support families with their nutritional needs in the morning, with healthy take-away meals available and good quality coffee to grab in the mornings before work. Australis Cafe is used as a community hub and will hold group training sessions for the community on topics such as parenting help, resume support for women getting back into the workforce and anything  that our community asks for!

Specialised Sessions

Specialist Sessions are  provided on a daily basis to enhance the Aurora Program. These are additional educational opportunities for children in areas such as sports, language, Fine Art, Yoga and Music. We believe that for such specific learning to be effective, it must be taught by a passionate teacher in that industry to give your child the very best exposure and learning as possible.

Aurora App

The Aurora App is your virtual real-time connection with the centre and your child. We record  data such as food and fluid intake, sleep, nappy changes and other important daily information. Your child’s learning documentation is recorded through the App such as  photos and videos throughout the day of your child learning and playing, evaluations of your child’s experiences and educational goals for the future.. My son has been enrolled at Aurora (moonglade) since the beginning of 2024, while he was just about 3yr old. We moved to Melbourne from San Diego in November 2023 and after considerable research we enrolled him at Aurora QV. While in San Diego, my son was enrolled at an amazing childcare center called Kid Ventures, it was literally an indoor kids play center that was converted into a preschool with amazing indoor play areas and activities. My son loved Kid Ventures. Initially, we were very concerned about his transition to new city, country and school at such a young age. However, the amazing staff of Moonglade room at Aurora, made his transition a breeze. My son loves Aurora and we have to thank educators, Nikki, Dana, Alex and everyone who take care of the children at Moonglade. He was a bit disappointed when Ms.Dana left Aurora but thanks to Ms.Nikki he continued to have great experience. The other day he was cheekily telling me Ms.Nikki taught him how to use the toilet paper when he was 3 and does not need my help anymore (when I offered to help him at home). Aurora is an great childcare centre where all the teachers, staff very patient, supportive and offer great learning experience for children.

Thank you, Aurora, for opening your doors to the Filipino community in Melbourne and providing a welcoming space for Filipino children to play, learn, and grow together. A special shoutout to Teacher Nikki, who’s been so warm and supportive to the children and families! Her natural sunny disposition creates a calming and nurturing environment for the learners. 💖

The best childcare center in the CBD. Modern facilities, safe & spacious. After touring numerous centers around the city, this one stands out as the best. Each child receives personalised care and attention. My child struggled as he moved to this new centre, but the educators and Ms. Nikki have successfully helped my toddler eat and nap independently. My son enjoys his time there, and is now well adjusted. They accommodate special dietary needs and are all incredibly friendly.

My toddler goes here for playgroup - the facility is immaculate, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that immediately puts both parents and chdren at ease. The play areas are thoughtfully designed with engaging and age-appropriate activities that capture kids's imaginations. My daughter loves messing around the sandbox area and saying hi to the fishes in the mini aquarium! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a top-notch environment for their little ones!

If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would! We’ve made it a ritual to come here with my son’s Mabuhay playgroup, and it’s been a game-changer since we moved to Melbourne. The community is so welcoming, making it easy to meet new people and mingle—both for me and especially for my little one. My son loves the sensory activities, outdoor play, and the endless books and toys to explore. They created a space that's both fun for the kids and easy on the eyes for parents. A must-visit for any young family!

Aurora QV in Melbourne is a beautiful and spacious place where children can play both indoors and outdoors. It is clean, inviting, relaxed, safe, and comfortable. Nikki is very kind, calm, and excellent at interacting with the children. My son is always excited to see Teacher Nikki. To the owner, thank you very much for allowing us parents and kids to use the space and for providing us with free access to the facility for our playgroup. 💞💞💞

This childcare centre is highly recommended. The centre is clean, with enough educational toys and facilities for kids. It also has nice indoor and outdoor space. The staffs are so friendly too. My son enjoys coming here for playgroups.

My twin girls were verbally abused at Aurora QV this year, 2024. I had Nikki their room leader admit it to me she yelled at one of the girls about two kids at a time in the outdoor cubby house. The twin ran away in tears after Nikki lost her temper and screamed at her she said that she wasn't consolable when walked up to her so left her. Upon them bursting into tears pointing the finger at her when I walked in to pick up, they were all sitting in a circle with Nikki's back turned to me and I heard her refuse my kids crackers saying they'd had enough hand outs in the circle already. When she saw me she decided they could have more food now that I was witnessing it ... then after her telling me what happened, I had to explain to her how to talk to kids about sharing and taking turns instead of screaming and losing her temper over being patient and asking for help from other educators or management when needed. When I told the owner she did nothing and didn't report and stand down the educator for investigation by the department of education immediately. After realising how little structure and responsibility the centre had, the girls were removed from the centre immediately. My twins suffered nightmares about Nikki and children of the educators that are in the class and interactions with them being harmful at the centre, which was a very severe and alarming reaction from the girls. The twin abused completely refused to see Nikki post incident when otherwise prior to the incident was always happy and confident about going to kindergarten with her teaching. They had a hectic adjustment phase because of being abused at the centre but are now safe and adjusted to the trusted care of an Explorers Centre.

From our experience we think you should *avoid* this childcare centre. Avoid this childcare centre at all costs. Over the past several months, our daughter has suffered multiple injuries, including being bitten and scratched, while in the care of this centre. These incidents have occurred frequently, and management has shown an alarming lack of interest, accountability, or meaningful action to address the situation. The only response from management was a vague post on their app about teaching children emotional regulation, which does nothing to resolve the ongoing safety concerns. When we requested a room change after several incidents, we were dismissed and told it was “not the solution.” After the sixth incident, we asked for a meeting, only to be met with completely impractical and inflexible times, further highlighting the lack of support from management. Additionally, we’ve witnessed the child-to-educator ratio being excessively high on several occasions, which only compounds our concerns about the safety and well-being of the children in their care. In response to our concerns, the centre suggested we should ‘assume positive intent’ and ‘remain mindful of our words.’ This response is not only patronising, but it also serves to deflect responsibility and minimise the very real harm our daughter has endured. The management’s continued lack of ownership, hiding behind vague language and the efforts of their team, has made it impossible to trust them with our child’s safety. As a result, we have made the decision to change childcare centres. We strongly recommend that other parents carefully consider their options before choosing this one. Your child’s well-being deserves far better.
