AMAZING Centre, AMAZING staff, AMAZING experience for the children.  My daughter LOVES going to Creche, the staff make it so special for the children - highly recommend it.

Lovely carer and kinder teacher, they genuinely care for your child and they take the trouble to updates your child development from time to time. You know your little one is always progressing and is in good hands. Will definitely recommend this Goodstart Early learning centre.

I have decided, after much deliberation to write a factual and succinct review.  The reason? Because we initially viewed the reviews and it certainly had an impact on our choosing the center for our son.  It is important for parents to be party to all kinds of experiences and not just the positive as people are often reluctant to post anything negative reviews, we also were initially reluctant.
I will only outline two of the major experiences which have forced me to pull my son from this day-care ASAP.
The first incident: without going into detail. At approximately 13 months old in January of this year. (My son had only attended this day-care for a short while.) He was sent home with major dental damage (half of his newly erupted tooth missing, his lip and jaw swollen and dried blood in the inside of this mouth. We noticed it straight away after picking him up and getting him home (A ten minute approximate time lapse)
We called the center. We requested an incident report and they informed us that, though it had obviously happened on their premises, no one saw anything and my son didn’t cry. The lack of empathy from 'direct management' was startling. Regional management was more helpful and reassured us this could have happened at home.  Which it certainly could have, although, I am lucky that my son has not had any incidents while in my care.
We had a meeting to discuss our concerns. We had to put our young infant through extreme dental intervention which was heartbreaking and ultimately we took the decision to have a permanent fixture on his little tooth to avoid decay. Leaving out the emotions of the experiences, I think most parents would understand how we felt. We received a phone call from regional management to check on son but non via the center itself. No-one asked about his recovery.
I am sad to say, against better judgement and a myriad of red flags we placed our son in these peoples care again. As with most cases like ours, we second guessed our feelings, deciding that we didn’t want to be unreasonable and deciding to trust that, because it was such a serious incident; it would be a one-off. Less than six month later, I collected my son. When he hugged me, I noticed he shook and clung to me. I thought perhaps it was the beginning of a viral infection, though it appeared like shock. I drove the few minutes home, placed him in his highchair and noticed his lip obviously swollen,  a large bruise on the side of his face, forehead and, when I lifted his lip, my heart sank...his front tooth totally broken off and, from when the dentist can ascertain, in a different place.
My husband immediately brought my son back. He kicked and screamed when he opened the center gates. The 'manager' suggested that it was lightly to happen because the tooth was capped. NOTE: it was not, it was a permanent fix similar to crown and the dentist expected only 6 month to yearly visits. My husband, barely holding back the tears asked for the incident report.  You guessed it...no incident report. Nobody witnessed anything. I could add a myriad of shocking and upsetting features to this case but I would prefer to be factual and to the point, excluding the emotional fallout for us and the possible permanent damage to my son I have omitted the recent feedback I was lucky enough to hear about the same center from someone who left also, I can appreciate it is also ‘hearsay’ although the lack of empathy and general negligence by its definition was strikingly similar.
I was frustrated that I had not known about this prior to placing my son in this day-care but, like me this young lady did not want to write a review that was negative. Hence, to help any parent making an informed decision, I hope this informs. I could not choose zero stars.

Goodstart Liberty Ave has been a godsend for me and my family. I have sent all three of my children to this centre (with 2 of them still attending)  and I cannot say a bad word about any of the staff there. They look after your children as their own and I have nothing but positive experiences with everyone there. The staff show a genuine love and care for the children which the children reciprocate. The staff have been extremely flexible with my casual working arrangements, always trying to help me where ever they can by swapping and providing extra days.
I am surprised to read the previous review, as talking from my own experience, whenever on the rare occasion one of my children have had a bump or mishap (which we all know can happen, even when you are standing right there!) the staff call me straight away and notify me and there is always an incident report at the end of the day.
Further to add, the learning experiences the staff provide for the children, right through from the Nursery to the Kindergarten are wonderful and I see this centre as an early learning centre and so much more than a Childcare centre.

I have sent both of my children to Liberty Ave Goodstart and I could not be happier with the service they provide.  All the staff genuinely adore the kids and are so dedicated to providing a warm, caring and safe environment for the children.  They always keep their inquisitive nature satisfied by involving them in activities that are structure for them to learn through play at each child's individual standard.  Everything they do has an educational basis and a learning outcome that they can then encourage and develop the child to the next level.  The staff and director are lovely and enthusiastic, I'm always given daily reports of an evening of what my child had been up to for the day.  What they played with, their reactions to the play, her comments while playing etc.  They even toilet trained my daughter for me.  My eldest child has started prep this year and has gone to Goodstart Liberty Ave since he was 11 months old.  After talking to some other mothers at his primary school I've quickly realised that he had been extremely well prepared for starting school by attending Goodstart and participating in the 3 & 4 year old kinder program as aposed to other local kinder programs. Still to this day he has a special bond with quite a few of the  staff there.  Keep up the amazing effort guys and thankyou

Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Rowville - Liberty Avenue is located in the quiet back streets of Rowville next to Liberty Avenue medical centre and behind Heany Park primary school.

Our educators are qualified and committed to providing engaging and educational programs for all children.
We believe that children learn through play and exploration, you can see this through our programs that are delivered and influenced by the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standard.

Our aim is to provide each child with the support, nurture and guidance to ensure that they have a positive and exciting time with us and most importantly feel safe and secure in their environment. Colourful, stimulating surrounds ensure the children have the chance to grow and develop through sensory, play-based learning; and we are focused on ensuring the children are ready to take that all important step up to school.
 
Outside, we have age appropriate play spaces and equipment, all geared to enhance the children’s awareness of their surrounds and the greater environment, as well as their understanding of the importance of sustainability. This is brought to life with a variety of manmade and natural elements including sandpits, a picnic table, water trough, slides, outdoor kitchen, mud kitchen, herb and vege patches, worm farms, a fort with slides, and lots of shade.

We pride ourselves on delivering enjoyable learning experiences and a variety of extra-curricular programs. Our main aim is to ensure all children have a productive and positive experience while they are at our service. We want every child to go home with a smile on their face and a lasting memory of their time here.
 
Our child care center has a cook who is very much loved for all her yummy and nutritional lunches. Our four week rotating menu is often revised according to the children, families and the ‘Healthy together Knox’ team of professionals. Our infants have the best of both worlds’ having fresh puréed vegetables and the choice of the warm lunch which is served every day.
 
Throughout the year we have a variety of incursions including experiences and through visits to the centre as well as excursions and participation in community events, we are able to deepen the relationship between the centre and the community. This helps teach the benefits of contributing and being an active member of society.

We offer a kindergarten program that will assist children to prepare for school. We give them a strong foundation for successful learning. We view play based learning as the foundation for long life learning. The program allows for flexibility to accommodate each child’s individual strengths, interests and stages of development daily, allowing for current interests to be extended on. The program is to meet the cognitive, social, emotional, physical and language needs and interests for each child with key learning areas evident throughout our program.
