Goodstart Early Learning Nollamara

My child has been going to Goodstart Nollamara for 2 years after moving from another daycare, she's 5 now. The difference was noticeable immediately, the educators were welcoming and hands on. They gave my child the nurturing she needed/s where it was missing from the other centres. It was like she had been attending the centre all along. She felt comfortable and took merely a few days to settle in. May I also add that she was in the middle of toilet training and they persevered supporting her through out the days. It took two weeks and she was fully toilet trained. I truly am so grateful for all their help. All the educators my child has in the centre are amazing, kind, thoughtful and aware. My child has loved everyone she has had in her classroom. This Goodstart is a credit to the centre manager Kylee as she is the one overseeing the centre, ensuring the safety and care of the children are paramount. It is also a centre that not only cares about the children but their staff which inturn makes a happy and cohesive environment for everyone. I highly recommend Goodstart Nollamara if you are looking for a childcare.

I Can't believe it my son will graduate soon from this centre, still remember when he still 7 Months old and now 4.5 yo. All the educators, and the management all are lovely and very helpful, love how they maintain the environment as well small renovation and improve environment for kids to play. It was nerve wrecking to leave my son with other people but 8 months in I couldn't be happier with the care he receives. He loves his educators and has his friends and especially loves the food. The communication is great, my Childcare subsidy is managed really well. The flexible hours suit my family.

My child has been going to good start Nollamara for almost 4 years. I started casually and I have found compared to other local daycare services this one was the most flexible and helpful. As I increased hours they tried to accomodate as they could.
Like many centres there is a change in staff however there is a core staff they have remained for the same time as my child, the new staff inclusive for the majority of the time have always been professional and helpful and respectful. I feel educators have a hard job to do with so many little humans that I do think they do their best under the circumstances. My child is always happy to go to school he has built a little community for himself and he is thriving in his development. I think as a parent I try to network with staff because I think the relationship is a two way Street, from talking to many staff they appear knowledgeable in different areas, each has their own strengths that they bring to the job but what's most important to me  is that they try to make my child feel safe when his not with me. In terms of parking I have not had any issues in my time with them the only issue with parking is bumping into other parents to talk creating traffic#sorrynotsorry 🤗😬

No car parks. Priority is for staffs not parents.

Not dispose shoe covers, reused them.
Families been told only one family member can drop and pick up child this is to make sure not too many people in the centre to reduce risk for spreading germ. But I saw staffs’s families can go in centre more than one person per family.
This centre always send my child home from little symptoms and next day have to stay home, while some children can be at centre with same symptoms. This make me think their staffs down and have to send some children home. Once I saw a child laid down on couch cried and had running nose the child looked really sick educated tried to give the child Panadol but next day I still saw same child at centre.
One of educators when she talk to children her sound feel like yelling to children to me children in that room are not happy. She should know how to deal with children and talk to children nicely. This educator never greeting or smile to me. I had some conversations with her she talked to me not nice and not polite, I feel she look down me in her voice. If she is not happy to work with children and service, why she is still working here.
I remember I saw a child opened water tap and played one of educators just force pulled the child arm and turned the tap off. There are many ways to deal with children.
In last few months about 10 staffs resigned, l asked them and their answers make me feel they run away from something in this place.
This centre is not look hygiene for me last year my child was sent home from gastro after lunch three times.
Children are neglected, my child was hurt from other child many times. Educators can stop children before they start to hurt each other if they keep watching around and not concentrated with cleaning.
Storypark should post everyday to show children activities, not once a week.
Children’s handcrafts should not put in children’s bags they got creased. Educators should keep them and put in a book when the book full then give to parents.
Once I went to pick up my child I saw my child was calling educators in the middle of the room for blowing a ballon no educators cared my child while other children in my child group having fun with balloons and have their names on balloons. Only my child not even got a blow ballon.
I am hardly to get help from educators to find my child stuffs for packing up and put shoe on I saw they were helpful for other families.

I feel this centre bullied my family. I hope what happen to me will not happen to you.

I pay money and expect to get good service but hardly get it from this place.
I have sent many complaints to head office but nothing improved.

Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Nollamara is a community based long day care service, situated along Flinders Street in Nollamara, we are in close proximity to a great range of public recreation areas and reserves, and are centrally located near the local primary schools.

We are a three room centre, boasting large spacious indoor learning environments and lots of natural light. We have a passion for natural elements within our learning environment, including both indoor and outdoor spaces.

At Goodstart Nollamara we pride ourselves on being a family friendly centre, focused on providing a warm, loving and inviting environment for all of our children and families. We endeavour to ensure children are being encouraged to learn new skills and strengthen abilities through our weekly curriculum.  

We provide an educationally rich program, in line with the Early Years' Learning Framework, for the children with a focus on environment based play and learning opportunities. Through group and individual observations we are able to track each child's development and tailor our curriculum and planning accordingly, we also welcome family and community input into our weekly curriculum.

Our centre was assessed by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority and we received an overall rating of ‘Exceeding’. This process is a National Framework, which rates all Childcare Centres across Australia against the National Quality Standards.

Our rooms are all geared with colourful, engaging programs accounting for each child’s individual interests, needs and strengths; and with each step we are ensuring the children are ready to take the big step into schooling.
 
This is made simpler through our intuitive Storypark platform, which enables us to maintain consistent and clear communications with families. That means we are better placed to support a child in their learning journey, ensure parents have peace of mind, and time stamp the children’s developments, milestones and achievements.
 
We have carefully designed outdoor spaces to encourage a stronger understanding of the environment and sustainability – while giving children the scope to explore, play and let their imaginations roam.

We feel that children need to develop a relationship with natural elements to develop an appreciation for our earth and the materials and resources it provides us. Through this we engage our children in a love and respect for natural environments and engage them in sustainable practices.

We have an incredible centre cook who has developed our weekly menu to support the children and families within our service, providing a variety of cultural options every day to the children in our care. Mealtimes within our centre are treated as a social event, allowing children to explore a variety of skills including turn taking and social interactions.

Our educators use this opportunity to educate the children on healthy eating habits, while role modelling appropriate behaviours and self-help skills. We will always endeavour to cater for families with special dietary needs such as food intolerances, allergies and Halal meat.

Our child care centre has many educators and families from different cultural backgrounds including Chinese, German, Italian, African, Australian, Irish, Polish, Korean, Indian and Thai.  The educators often share their language with the children and this can also assist new children and families to settle into the service. We encourage families to share their cultural heritage.

Our families are always encouraged to take part in special events and daily centre life. We have an 'Open Door Policy' where we invite parents to spend time in the centre during the day. We believe this helps the children to settle into our environment, and form strong and lasting relationships with carers and other children.
