Our team

The quality of our centre is underpinned by the quality of our people. At the heart of our centre is our longstanding team of passionate educators. Our educators love working at the centre because we have created a culture of love and gratitude for our centre, staff, and children. We also take pride in being a multicultural centre with over 6 different languages spoken amongst the staff. This supports our passion for centre events celebrating all the beautiful cultures we have at our service. 

We know each child is an individual with unique talents and interests. Our team is passionate about their profession and truly wants your child to succeed in discovering their identity as confident, happy, and resilient learners. Parents receive daily updates and photos detailing their child's learning and development from our easy to use parent app.

Relationships are key to delivering the best possible learning opportunities for your child. Our Educators and teachers develop strong bonds with the children and their families. We view a child's early education as an extension of the learning occurring at home. Therefore, we believe a successful early learning journey needs a good partnership. We pride ourselves on working together with our families to achieve the best possible outcomes for their child. We welcome your involvement, and that Involvement will look different for different families.

Health & Nutrition 

Our centre chef prepares and cooks healthy and nutritious meals daily, catering to the unique dietary requirements of every child. All meat is halal, and we have vegetarian options as well.  We believe that by encouraging active participation (such as growing their own fruit and vegetables, preparing, and finally cooking!) children learn to appreciate and understand the importance of healthy eating. 

Our centre offers children simple, nutrient-rich, unprocessed, and seasonal whole foods - designed to tempt even the fussiest of eaters. 

Meet the Centre Manager - Merissa Phillips

I started working in early learning in 2012. I joined the team at Buggles Beckenham in 2021. I hold a Diploma of Children’s services. In my career, I have owned and operated my own Family Daycare and long Day care Centre. I have also taught ESL in Taiwan for 4 years.

I was inspired to work in early childcare education as I wanted to make a difference. I love to be a part of children’s lives and to watch them develop and grow into their own Being.

I learnt that every child is different and they develop in their own pace. Every child needs to feel safe, nurtured and have a sense of belonging in their learning environment.

Our centre has a team of qualified and passionate early childhood educators. Our Educators are experienced and they value every child. Attending a dedicated early childhood centre supports children’s emotional development and help them develop their social skills.

Our families are a valuable part of our centre. We encourage them to be involved in their child’s learning and consistently ask for feedback. We build trusting relationships with our families and support open communication.
