Parent Reviews
Happened to be walking past here and could see kids playing in the back area, then heard a young female staff member yelling at a child in such a horrible verbally abusive way. My daughter asked me what was wrong with the scary lady
We love the team over at wattle grove, our daughter loves her learners, she comes home talking about them constantly. Cherie runs a tight ship and we’re very comfortable with the guidance.
Our family loves Sonas Wattle Grove. The place is always clean, the meals are healthy and the staff are friendly. They pay attention to detail with each kid, and my daughter comes home in a good mood each day. Any concerns/issues are addressed promptly.
No management.....
If I could give minus start I would!
If you are considering sending your child/ren here I would highly suggest you rethink this.
A couple of months ago now I worked here helping the centre out as an agency staff.
During my shift I was left alone with 20 children for over 20mins with noone coming to help or see if myself or the children were ok, considering I was a complete stranger to these children.
Later in the day I was again left alone with the children out of ratio for over 40min, then questioned if I had done nappies. 1. I couldn't do them for supervision & nappies being in another room.
I could go on about this centre, from my experience I think management needs to get involved and have a deeper look here.
After speaking to other agency staff everyone says the exact same thing, left out of ratio, treated like a slave, spoken to terribly & the children physically hurting staff.
If you are considering sending your child/ren here I would highly suggest you rethink this.
The sad thing is majority of Sonas are the exact same.
Previous Educator/Room Leader
My 3.5-yr-old and 1.5-yr-old boys have attended Sonas since 2020 and 2022 respectively. I'll admit there was a period of disruption due to a high turnover of centre managers and staff within a short timeframe, but we've noticed greater stability in the core educators in the past six+ months, more structured learning activities, and my boys have been thriving in the environment. The Centre Manager has really listened to any concerns or queries I've had around my boy's care or development, addressed them promptly and in a way that we've been satisfied with. Her high expectations around child care and educator responsibilities is a good thing, because I know my children are safe, happy and genuinely cared for. Personally, I really love, value and appreciate how the core educators treat my boys, which I see through their interactions at pick-up and drop-off.
I have had 2 of my children at this centre over the past 5 years and they have always been loved and cared for as much as a child can be in a childcare centre. I am confident in leaving my 4 year here every week knowing that he will be happy, nurtured and educated in my absence. The entire team are lovely and they truly want nothing but the best for the kids in their care - I cannot recommend Sonas Wattle Grove enough ❤
