The world’s largest LEGO store has officially opened its doors, and although you might assume this supersized store is in Denmark, where LEGO was created, or Tokyo, where toy shops are legendary, the reality is actually a lot closer to home!

This is because the world’s largest LEGO store is now open in downtown Sydney, and even if you’re not quite as excited about LEGO as the little person in your life (because they’re VERY excited), this store is a must-see if you find yourself in Sydney’s CBD.

It’s free to visit, packed with Christmas gift ideas, and has some really amazing features that you’re encouraged to feel your way around.

In the world’s largest LEGO store there are stacks of opportunities for hands-on play (as is the LEGO way) and you'll get to:

  • Create and customise your own LEGO Minifigure, then watch it being made in Australia’s first LEGO Minifigure Factory
  • Participate in LEGO build challenges and other fun events happening in-store
  • Add your touch to the LEGO Play Wall
  • Check out the Storytelling Table, which takes you behind-the-scenes of the LEGO design process in an interactive way, then
  • Choose the exact LEGO brick pieces you’d like for a personalised build, using the Pick and Build Wall.

And, of course, no LEGO store is complete without a few mega LEGO builds!

The world’s largest LEGO store is home to some seriously impressive creations, and you’ll love the Rainbow Gum Tree which reaches from the lower floor all the way up to the second floor, with a variety of Aussie wildlife at home among the gum leaves.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge will also catch your eye.

This LEGO landmark took 549,378 bricks and 3,650 person hours to build; and the Sydney Opera House mosaic is another show-stopper.

This was built with 303,719 bricks, including one special ‘mystery brick’ which is fun (and tricky) to find.

All in all, LEGO’s shiny new store is definitely worth a visit, and it’s easy for Sydneysiders to get to.

The world’s largest LEGO store is located in Sydney Arcade, overlooking the Pitt Street Mall, and whether you sneak in on your own to sort some Christmas shopping, or take the whole family along for a morning of fun, this place is brilliant.

Enjoy!
