The recent changes to the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) legislation has enabled childcare operators to offer a discount off the gap fees for its Educators with children enrolled at their services.

Green Leaves Early Learning has announced that they will be boosting one key element of their employee benefits package, known as ‘Work Perks’. Centre Team Members will now receive an incredible 75 per cent gap fee discount, but paying no more than $11 per day per child.

Many of our team members are parents who have chosen to share their passion and knowledge with us as professionals, while also entrusting their children into the care of Green Leaves".

Educator benefits at Green Leaves

We’re all experiencing inflationary pressures on the family budget. As a business, it’s rewarding to be able to support our educators who have young families".

“One thing that sets us apart is our supportive culture. If you walk into any one of our centres on any given day, you’ll find that the team is celebrating each other. Recognition is not just reserved for once a year on Early Childhood Educators Day. Being respected, supported, and valued is very much ingrained in the Green Leaves culture”, says Chief Executive Officer, Mark McDonald-Smith.

Green Leaves are proud to be able to offer this significant discount to their centre team members, while many other larger early education and care providers are shying away from such generous commitments.

Kirsten Berry, Green Leaves Early Learning’s National Operations Manager, agrees that this measure will support all providers to attract and retain their workforce.

“This is a great outcome for our sector, which we hope will encourage more interest in the early learning profession and provide reassurance for educators to return to work after parental leave, therefore supporting those with young children.

In the long run, the increase in the availability of employees in the sector will enable childcare to be more accessible to families. The flow-on effect will be tremendous if we’re able to maintain the momentum and continue to tap into the workforce to attract experienced and skilled employees and those returning from parental leave.

As a predominately female sector, there’s enormous potential in paving the way to supportmothers in pursuing career opportunities and enjoying professional as well as personal growth, said Ms Berry.

Some of Green Leaves Work Perks include access to professional development and training opportunities, mentor programs, career progression, reward and recognition programs, wellbeing programs, Employee Assistance Programs, and so much more.
