Childcare Match is a really helpful feature of the FREE KindiCare App. Use it to find your perfect childcare place!

Searching for childcare might not be quite as important as choosing a life partner, but you do want to find that perfect match, and KindiCare is here to help!
Childcare Match is a special feature of the KindiCare App which enables you to pinpoint your childcare preferences, then swipe through services that match your needs and wants.
This makes it easier to find that one perfect place, and here's how you go about it:
1. Install the KindiCare App
Our app has a rating of 4.7 stars in the App Store, with thousands and thousands of happy customers, and because it’s totally free for families to use, you install this smart app without paying a cent.
2. Tap in your childcare preferences
Once you’ve created a KindiCare account and populated your profile, go to the ‘Childcare Match’ tab and set things up for your personalised childcare search.
It just takes a couple of taps to tell us:
- Your child’s age group
- When you want childcare to start (e.g. straightaway or on a date in the future)
- Your preferred location for childcare (e.g. near your home, work, or older child’s primary school)
- How far from this location the childcare service can be (e.g. you might be happy to travel 2km or 10km)
- What type of early learning service you’re looking for (e.g. a long day care or a standalone preschool/kindergarten)
- How much you want to spend on childcare per day or session; and
- What your preferred quality ratings are for prospective services (i.e. the KindiCare Ratings and National Quality Standard Ratings you’d like to see).
3. Swipe through your childcare matches
The KindiCare App will present you with all the childcare services that match your preferences, and it’s easy to tap the heart icon if you love a listing, or tap the X if you’re not so keen.
The services you love will be added to your Shortlist, so you can compare your best options, based on things like quality, cost, convenience, curriculum and reputation.
And if you didn’t like a place at first, but are now having second thoughts, you can revisit your matches in the ‘Second Look’ area of Childcare Match.
4. Book some tours
Once you’ve compared the childcare services in your Shortlist, and found your favourite favourites, it’s time to click the ‘Make Enquiry’ button in each listing and book a tour.
As this article explains, it’s really important that a childcare service passes your ‘vibe test,’ as well as being a practical match.
So, think about the feeling you get from a service when you're on site, and ask lots of questions along the way.
5. Apply for that perfect childcare place
Once you’ve seen a service you love, online and in person, click the ‘Apply’ button in its KindiCare listing to express your interest in a spot.
Hopefully, you’ll secure a place as soon as you need it, but if not, it may help to join the waitlist at all your favourite services, and play around with your Childcare Match preferences.
For example, you might find more great childcare matches when you change your preferred location from ‘near home’ to ‘near office’, open your mind to other types of childcare, or work some flexibility into your preferred days or start date.
