If you’re partial to a piece of fairy bread, then you’ll be excited for Fairy Bread Day

This annual event is all about eating fairy bread for a great cause.

Fairy Bread Day raises funds for The Pyjama Foundation, to empower Aussie kids in foster care; and whether you do a simple online donation, or host a spectacular Fairy Bread Day party, there’s joy in the giving (and in the eating).

And speaking of joy, Christmas is fast approaching.

So, here are five ways to sprinkle fairy bread fun into the festive season – because too much fairy bread is barely enough!

Enjoy.

1. Decorate your Christmas tree with fairy bread

Butter and sprinkles won’t pair so well with your pine tree or plastic fantastic, but this gorgeous sequinned decoration will!

Shaped like a piece of fairy bread, this Florabelle Living design is a delight for Christmastime, and if you’re loving all things Australiana, you can hang it with other Aussie icons, like a luxe lamington and bejewelled jar of Vegemite

2. Take a fairy bread Christmas tree to your next function

'Tis the season for Christmas parties, and if you’re planning to bring a plate, then make sure there’s a fairy bread Christmas tree on it!

This Coles recipe is a guaranteed a crowd-pleaser – whether you share it with your childcare community, colleagues or extended family – and this treat-of-a-tree is easy to put together on the day.

3. Light a sweet candle for the 12 days of Christmas

Christmas is about sugar and spice and all things nice, and ‘nice’ surely includes a fairy bread candle!

This coco soy blend candle from Mallow smells diviiiiiiiiine, and if you feel like sharing the joy, this fairy bread candle would be a scent-sational gift for your child’s educator.

4. Sprinkle some extra magic with Elf on the Shelf

Elf on the Shelf is always fun, but an Elf-sized fairy bread costume will make things even funner.

Simply slip it onto your Elf for the sweetest find come morning, and if you need some more Elf on the Shelf ideas, check out My Magical Moments for costumes and accessories aplenty.

5. Gift-wrap some felt fairy bread for your preschooler

If your little one loves pretend play, then three slices of felt fairy bread from Juni Moon will be very much appreciated on Christmas morning.

There’s also the option of feasting on felt throughout the festive season, because Juni Moon has a whole range of Christmas-themed goodies, plus rattan trays, stands and bowls to serve them in.

First, though, we’ve got Fairy Bread Day to look forward to on 24 November.

So, have a think about how you’ll get on board with this fun fundraising event.

And here’s to a colourful Christmas, with sprinkles on top!
