A Taylor Swift, Coldplay or Oasis show is all very exciting for the older concert-goer, but if you have an under-five, then a matinee performance featuring their favourite characters will fit the bill perfectly.
Going along to a live show is fun for parents too, and if you’re looking for something colourful and captivating, then here are six productions your little one will love!
1. Emma Memma
Emma Memma, Elvin Melvin and their friends put on an amazing show for little people, with singing, dancing and signing, and although their 2024 Boop and Twirl Tour has finished, the team is weaving lots of magic this Christmas and through 2025!
You'll find upcoming Christmas show details below, plus exciting tour announcements on the official Emma Memma website, and Live Nation is the place to book your tix for the Emma Memma: Dance Island Party next year.
Yay!
2. Spot Live on Stage
Spot has been around since before Bluey’s creator, Joe Brumm, was even born (true story), and this playful yellow pup continues to bring joy with his colourful stories and cute antics.
If your toddler or preschooler loves the Spot books, they’ll go dotty over his stage show, and there are plenty of opportunities to see Spot Live on Stage in QLD, VIC, WA and NSW.

3. The Gruffalo
‘A mouse took a stroll through the deep, dark wood….’ and if your preschooler is keen to see what happens next, then make sure you snap up tickets for The Gruffalo these summer holidays!
After sell-out seasons around the globe, this stage show is doing an encore in Sydney and Melbourne in January 2025.
Even if your child knows the ending (and, of course they do!), Julia Donaldson’s story will be suspenseful and surprising on stage, and you can check dates and book tickets here.
4. The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show
Although one extremely ravenous caterpillar is the star of this show, there are actually more than 75 magical puppets in this production, and you’ll see four Eric Carle stories brought to life, including Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?
All of this is exciting for your preschooler, and The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show is moving between NSW, VIC, QLD and WA this summer.

5. Bluey’s World
Bluey’s World has opened in Brisbane, and when you go along to this experience, you won’t be sitting in the audience or on the couch.
Instead, Bluey’s World puts you at the centre of the action, as you explore a life-sized version of the Heeler family’s house, backyard and world!
