The school holidays are coming up, and if you’re lucky to be escaping Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne or somewhere else, then we hope you’re escaping to the Sunshine Coast!
Stretching 60km along south-east Queensland’s coastline, the Sunny Coast has it all – from pristine beaches and magical national parks, to historic villages and fam-friendly attractions.

It’s one of those places that really is as great as it sounds, and if you’re an early childhood professional, then the Sunny Coast isn’t just a dreamy holiday destination.
There’s a real opportunity to make a sea change, tree change and career change with Goodstart Early Learning.
And although a move to the Sunshine Coast might feel big from where you’re sitting, it’s actually totally do-able.
Goodstart has 17 Sunshine Coast centres, and lots of job openings for passionate early learning professionals, which gives you plenty of choice.

A beautiful work-life balance then awaits, and Kayla Fairbairn is one Goodstart employee who’s already living the dream.
Kayla moved from New South Wales to the Sunshine Coast 12 years ago, and hasn’t looked back.
In fact, her only regret is that the Fairbairn family didn’t move sooner!
Kayla has absolutely loved seeing her children growing up on the Sunshine Coast, with its warm weather, beautiful scenery, exciting experiences, and amazing community.

And on the work front, Kayla’s job is an absolute joy.
Kayla is an Educational Leader at the highly rated service, Goodstart Early Learning Baringa, which means she gets to move through every learning environment each week, supporting educators and children across the board.
This role is incredibly fulfilling, and Kayla says, “Goodstart Baringa is honestly my home away from home. It’s such a great place to work, and I feel my contributions are truly appreciated.
“I’m always encouraged to reach my full potential, with endless support from my colleagues, and there are lots of opportunities for professional development.”

There’s also no doubt that a Sunny Coast vibe filters into the centre.
Everyone is happy and relaxed, with the flexibility to balance their professional and personal lives, and less cost-of-living pressures than they’d have in a city centre.
All in all, Kayla says, “Moving to the Sunshine Coast was the best thing our family could have done.
“It didn’t take long to settle in when we first arrived, and we’ve met so many wonderful people from all walks of life, and enjoyed so many magical experiences.
“With the mountains on one side and the ocean on the other, the Sunshine Coast truly offers the best of both worlds, and my years at Goodstart have been the best ever!”
