Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Grandparents’ Day are all big dates on the family calendar, but another day we should definitely celebrate is Early Childhood Educators’ Day.  

This annual event recognises and applauds all the educators who do so much to support and nurture our littlest learners.  

Us families are forever grateful for the positive influence great educators have on our young children’s wellbeing, learning and development; and service operators are also thankful for the people who are not just on their payroll, but in their childcare family.  

So, let’s all come together to celebrate our passionate, professional, dedicated, caring and sometimes wonderfully silly early childhood educators!  

If you’ve been invited to a special event at your centre, we hope you can carve out some time to go along, or else send in a little token of your appreciation, like a handmade card.  

And if your child happens to go to a Story House Early Learning centre, you can be sure their educators will be treated well on 4 September, and every day.  

Story House’s National Partnerships and Operations Manager, Nicole Spillman​​​​ says, “We are so very proud of the incredible work our educators do to nurture the children in our communities, as they influence and support them to be the best they can be! 

“At Story House, our educators mean the world to us, so that’s why the leaders in our services have organised special events and moments to celebrate them. And because every Story House team is different, no celebrations will be the same.”  

Nicole explains that each centre will recognise the amazing work of their educators in a special and unique way, with Early Childhood Educators’ Day celebrations fitting perfectly into the communities they are located in. 

Lots of careful planning and thoughtful collaboration has gone into each event, and depending on which Story House centre your family is enrolled with, educators might enjoy a visit to the hot springs, food trucks visiting the service, team bowling celebrations, hampers, personalised goodies, ‘snackleboxes’, games, prizes or something equally special! 

Whatever the day looks like, we hope it’s fun, and we also hope you can take a moment to think about the incredible work our educators do – day after day and year after year.
