Parent Reviews
The tour given by Billie the Centre Manager was very informative, the centre was clean with a lot of natural light, the staff were welcoming and children seemed happy
The centre provides a nurturing environment for children where the team of educators work hard to not only provide a safe and fun learning environment but go above and beyond to plan for their learning. I would recommend this centre for anyone looking for care in the area.
We have been part of this daycare center since our child was 9 months old, and it has truly been an fantastic experience. From day one, we were impressed by the caring and dedicated educators who play such a vital role in our child's development.
Communication at this daycare center has been exceptional. We've always felt well-informed about our child's activities, progress, and any special events happening at the center. Whenever we've had any concerns or questions, the educators and management team have been quick to address them, ensuring that not only our child's well-being but also that of the other children is their top priority
We are grateful for the positive impact this daycare has had on our child's early years and highly recommend it to any parents seeking a caring and supportive place for their little ones.
Thank you to Billie and the Journey team for providing such a wonderful place for our child to grow and learn!
My daughter has been going to Journey Early Learning since the centre opened. Its such a pleasant centre with educators who have a passion for developing kids and not just doing a job.I highly recommend the centre and so thankful that my daughter is surrounded by such amazing beings.Everything is well planned from day to day activities to excursions keeping the kids well engaged. The Centre Group management also communicates well through emails and frequent webinars with parents.Well done Billie and team!
My twins have been at JELC for two and a bit years now. The staff are amazing, Billie and her team are caring educators who have the best interests of the children at heart. As a working mum who needs long day care five days a week I feel 100% confident that my boys are being well looked after - mind, body and soul.
My daughter was there for 9 months & within that 9 months I’d addressed many concerns to the Centre Director and not once were my issues taken seriously. My daughter come home with soiled underwear as they had left her in her in dirty undies since 11:30am (as per Storypark bowel movement logged). They upload photos of your child once a month and you’d be lucky to have 1 of your child in the photo. Walking in to that daycare is like taking your dog to a dog park, taking the lead off your dog & letting them run wild. It’s chaotic in there. The educators do not engage with the children and there is no form of communication especially on drop off or pick up. Most incidents my daughter had was found out on arrival instead of contacting me or NOK and they all point fingers not knowing what happened, these incidents include to her head but not limited to. The duty of care is appalling. They also do not keep any arts and craft of your child. When putting in my notice to which my daughter had 2 weeks remaining at this point to find they had taken down her family photo within 24 hours and she was so upset over it. My child should not be made to feel excluded in her last weeks out of spite. I removed her from the centre immediately. This is only a percentage of what has occurred. I am still yet to receive an apology from them. They have failed my daughter and as a mother my heart is broken.
While there were some great educators that I appreciated, there is not many other pleasant things I can say for this centre.
There was an incident where my child's hair was cut without my consent (her first ever hair cut). As a parent, I was truly devastated. I was told this was a mistake and they had mistakenly taken the wrong child with the same name and they were “sorry”. I raised this concern and expressed my feelings and touched on the fact that if this was medication accidentally administered to the wrong child this could be a very different outcome. I was then told things like “lucky it’s just hair, it will grow back”, “we have a cross check point for medication so this wouldn’t happen“ and “I can’t promise further incidents won’t happen again”
On another occasion, my child came home with both front teeth chipped, and it was unclear how the accident occurred and not one single educator noticed that both front teeth were severely chipped. I was told that “she was upset at one point during the day but they weren’t sure why” this was definitely not taken serious enough.
My child was also victim to a soft tissue injury after her finger was closed in a door by an educator. She attended to the doctors and was referred for an immediate Xray due to the extensive damage seen. Her finger is still not healed and her nail bed is damaged. I never received an apology and again, no one was held accountable. I was told “it was a freak accident and she moved her finger at the last second. There was nothing we could do.” Quick to blame a kid, and not the educator who clearly didn’t move my child out of harms way before closing the door or triple check no fingers were in the way.
Last but definitely not least - my child came home with soiled underwear and complaining of discomfort in the area. The underwear had been on since 8:11am following an accident - according to storypark. Again, I raised this and was rudely spoken to by the director who said “she refused to let us wipe after the toilet. You carry on about consent (referring to the haircut incident), what do you want us to do”
For context, my child is 3 years old and is incapable of cleaning themselves after using the toilet. Disappointing to say the least.
This is not even half of the issues and incidents that I encountered during my time at this centre and the many other negative reviews speak for themselves.
From another furious, sad, angry, heartbroken parent.
Think about your babies before sending them here.
