Additional Centre Information

A day in the life of...

Zoe’s Day - Nursery:

Morning Zoe is 11 months old and enjoys sensory play outside in the sandpit with her friends. She sits near her educator who helps teach her how to scoop the sand into the bucket. Zoe is learning how to dig, carry, and move the sand. She is also exploring texture and learning what happens to the sand when she adds water!

Lunch Zoe has finished her lunch and is preparing to take a nap. Her educator changes her nappy, prepares a bottle and reads Zoe a story before her afternoon sleep.

Afternoon Zoe and some of her nursery friends enjoy some story time and songs outside in the shaded garden. They read ‘Peepo’ which is Zoe’s favourite book.

Leo’s Day - Toddlers:

Morning Leo is two and a half years old and loves to start his day at the centre outside on the climbing equipment. His friends join him, and together they pretend to be pirates on a ship looking for treasure. Through this exciting dramatic play, Leo is learning about himself and the world around him. Dramatic play is helping Leo identify his interests, abilities, likes and dislikes.

Lunchtime Leo is watering the vegetables in the garden. By doing this, Leo is learning the importance of growing and caring for the veggies in the garden. Leo picks a tomato from the garden, which the Chef will use to help make Leo and his friends lunch - spaghetti bolognese!

Afternoon Leo enjoys art, and today he is painting a beach scene from a recent family holiday. He adds the finishing touches and sets the painting aside to dry; so that he can take it home to share with his family. While painting, Leo is learning how to express himself creatively and how to convey his ideas and emotions. Painting is also helping develop Leo’s hand eye coordination, finger, wrist and hand strength. Making marks on paper is important for self expression as well as later learning.

Charlotte's Day - Kindergarten:

Morning Charlotte is almost five years old and can’t wait for today’s carpentry experience - she loves building things! Carpentry experiences allow Charlotte and her friends to extend their learning through real-life experiences. While participating in carpentry, Charlotte is learning to problem solve, experiment and predict. She is also improving her hand eye coordination, manipulative skills and muscular strength.

Lunch Before Charlotte sits down for lunch with her friends and educators, Charlotte takes part in the centre’s wellness program - yoga! Charlotte loves yoga. Yoga helps Charlotte improve her flexibility and strength (perfect for growing bodies!). Yoga also allows her to practice controlled breathing in a fun and engaging way.

Afternoon Charlotte is off to ‘big school’ next year and she can't wait to start! Charlotte and her friends will be visiting the local primary school next week. In preparation for the visit the class is creating a list of questions to ask the Principal and school children.

The best childcare my kids have ever attended! The educators are incredibly friendly and truly care about the children's well-being and development. The management team is equally fantastic, always approachable and supportive. My kids love it here, and I couldn't be happier with the care they receive. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nurturing and positive environment for their little ones!

My son just completed 2 transition sessions and has been really happy! We have felt welcome and can see they are thorough with child safety, checking allergies etc. Kids all play happily both with educators independently with strong staff presence and supervision. Looking forward to him starting here :)

Highly Recommend Community Kids Narre Warren South. From the moment we walked in the door with our first daughter, we felt so welcomed. The center felt open, transparent and safe. The staff at this center are absolutely wonderful, they are clearly very passionate about what they do and the Care, love, and attention they have given our daughter has been such a huge reassurance for us. It is not easy to leave your babies somewhere and return to work but Community kids has made the transition such a natural and positive experience. Our daughter has such a fantastic time here, they offer a wide range of fun and creative activities, themed learning opportunities, weekly Hey Dee Ho music sessions and baby yoga. The app is so easy to use, and the daily updates are so cute and helpful when your having a long hard day at work! The whole team is so involved and friendly here, from the lovely approachable management team, to the warm, caring educators/carers and the wonderful on-site chef. Couldn't ask for a better experience! Our second child is about to start here and we are so at ease with her transition, thank you to this fantastic center for giving us the reassurance and caring for our babies!!!

I sent my son here and on his first day he got a fractured finger, the staff said she was holding him and he got his finger stuck in the door which is very hard to believe and they just put a bandage on his finger. We still can't get him to go anywhere in childcare or kinder because he still remember the incident. Very poor care. Please be aware as they said child's safety is not their responsibility. I wish I could give negative or zero stars.

I wish I could give it a zero. Worst place they don't care about kids' safety.

I went for a tour for my son (2months old) to start next year. I didn't book any tour beforehand. I just walked in and asked if I could see their centre. The lady in the office (Indian lady) who did the tour showed me each and every room and I was amazed how happy the children looked in all the rooms. The place looked amazing. All I could see was all the children were calm and engaged with their teachers as compared to Childcare I went in the morning (same suburb). The teachers greeted me and my son (which made a long lasting impression on me). I would recommend other families to go and visit Community Kids at Narre Warren. I have made up my mind to send my boy to this place early next year.

Highly recommend community kids Narre warren. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. They were happy to use cloth nappies I provided and have been really helpful with adding extra days through the app when I needed which is so helpful with an ever changing schedule! The reason I truly recommend this centre is the amazing staff and caring and dedicated educators. You can tell the staff genuinely care for all the children.
